Domain Breakdown

Before you buy, three things worth knowing. You cannot simply book this exam: PeopleCert requires an existing ITIL 4 certification, ITIL Foundation (Version 5) or ITIL Foundation Bridge (Version 5), and accredited training or official eLearning on top of that, so check what it will cost you before you spend anything here. This bank covers 58 of PeopleCert's 76 published assessment criteria, and the other 18 were left out on purpose rather than invented. And a lot of the questions test a fact you have already been asked somewhere else: we read 598 pairs of questions one by one and confirmed 114 of them as repeats, and most pairs we never read at all, so read this as 250 questions, not 250 separate facts. All three are explained in full below. Independent study material. These are original questions written from PeopleCert's published ITIL Product (Version 5) syllabus, not real exam content. Unlike some modules, PeopleCert does publish official weights here, and the ten domains above carry those official weights rather than an editorial guess, though the question counts depart from them slightly for the reason in the next paragraph. Three things are worth knowing before you plan revision. First, the four smallest domains, Transition, Operate, Deliver and Support, carry 7.5 percent each, which at 250 questions works out at 19 apiece. That is too thin to practise a domain properly, so each was raised to 22 and the extra taken from the two largest domains, which remain the largest. Your practice mix is therefore slightly flatter than the real exam, so treat Digital products and services and The ITIL Product and Service Lifecycle as bigger than they look here. There is a second difference in the mix that matters more, and it is about how hard the questions are rather than which domain they sit in. PeopleCert grades every criterion by what it asks of you: most ask you to explain or describe something, and the rest ask you to apply it to a situation and decide what to do. The published split is 65 percent explain and 35 percent apply. This bank is 204 explain and 46 apply, so about one question in five asks you to apply something, where the real exam asks it of one in three. The reason is the 18 criteria we left out, explained further down: 10 of those 18 are apply-them criteria. Two domains contain no apply-them questions at all, and between them they hold 62 of the 250 questions. For Digital products and services that matches the syllabus, which sets no apply-level criteria in that domain at all, so nothing is missing there. For The ITIL Product and Service Lifecycle the gap is ours: it is the largest domain in this bank, and both of its apply-level criteria are among the 18 we could not ground. So this bank under-practises the harder half of the exam. Expect the real paper to push you further on applying the ideas than this bank does, and use your accredited training for that part. Second, the real exam is 40 questions in 90 minutes, open book, with a pass mark of 70 percent, though the PeopleCert material we could reach says only open book and never lists what you are allowed to bring, so confirm that with your training provider, so this 250-question bank is a revision surface rather than a stand-in for the real paper. Third, and most important for your budget, you cannot simply book this exam. PeopleCert requires any ITIL 4 certification, or ITIL Foundation (Version 5), or ITIL Foundation Bridge (Version 5), and on top of that requires training through an Accredited Training Organization or ITIL Official eLearning, stating that exam results will not be released without proof of completion. The cheapest listed bundle is for retakes only. Please check that before you buy anything. On sources, ITIL is a paywalled framework and the official ITIL Product publication is a paid eBook that was not used. Questions are grounded in the official syllabus and its published assessment criteria, supported by public material. Where the public record is genuinely contested, in particular how the eight lifecycle activities relate to the service value chain, this bank never asks you to map ITIL 4's six-activity value chain onto Version 5's eight activities. Three questions do go further than that, and you should know which way they lean. They treat the eight activities as being the value chain itself, with a value stream as one path through them that produces one output for one consumer. That is what the public material we could reach says, and the syllabus does assess value chain and value stream directly, so we kept them. But PeopleCert's own wording on that specific point sits inside the paid publication and we could not check it. If your accredited training words it differently, trust your training over us on those three. One more thing you should know before you buy, because it affects what you can revise here. PeopleCert publishes 76 assessment criteria for this module and this bank covers 58 of them. The other 18 are left out on purpose. They are the criteria asking which management practices enable each lifecycle activity, the recommendations for making each activity effective, and how a product organisation is structured and enabled. PeopleCert keeps that material inside the paid publication and its membership, and the free substitutes we could find were either incomplete or written in ITIL 4 vocabulary, which would teach you the wrong terms for a Version 5 exam. Writing questions from those sources would have meant inventing answers, so we left them out and told you instead. You have to take accredited training or official eLearning to sit this exam anyway, and that is where to pick up the missing quarter. ITIL Version 5 is a different syllabus from ITIL 4, so material written for ITIL 4 will not on its own prepare you for this module. Last thing, and it is about the questions themselves rather than the syllabus. We had reviewers compare pairs of questions blind, and we read the highest-risk pairs ourselves, one at a time. Across 598 pairs read individually we confirmed 114 cases where two questions test the same fact, usually dressed in a different company and different names, and those cases involve 113 of the 250 questions. We are deliberately not giving you a repetition rate, and you deserve the real reason. The counts below tell you how much of this bank we actually checked; they are not an estimate of how repetitive it is. Most pairs in this bank were never read individually: of the 2,497 pairs on our review list, which is the 2,496 our checker flagged plus one cross-domain pair a reviewer caught that the checker never proposed, 1,899 are still unread. When we audited our own review we found mistakes in both directions, pairs wrongly called repeats and pairs wrongly called different, so we cannot honestly tell you that 114 is a floor or a ceiling. It is what this audit currently marks, nothing more. We also had an independent reviewer re-read twenty flagged pairs blind, without being shown our verdicts. They disagreed with us on four of them, and in this particular sample all four went the same way, towards more repetition rather than less: three were pairs we had recorded as never individually read, and one we had called different. We then read all four ourselves and agreed with the reviewer, which is why the number above is 114 and not 110. That is the honest reason we will not give you a total: each time we have looked harder we have found more, and 1,899 pairs have still had no one look at them, so the real amount of repetition is very likely higher than 114 and we cannot tell you by how much. We are also not ranking the domains for you, because we read far more pairs in some domains than in others and any ranking would mostly show you where we looked rather than where the repetition is. Our honest read on why this happens is that PeopleCert publishes only a few lines about some activities, and there is a limit to how many genuinely different questions anyone can write from three or four sentences without making things up. We chose to keep those questions rather than shrink the bank, because seeing a fact again in a new scenario is still decent revision, and because inventing extra detail to pad the variety would have been worse. But you should read this as 250 questions, not 250 separate facts.
