About the PMI-CP Exam
Practise contracts management, stakeholder engagement, strategy and scope management, and project governance on built-environment projects.
Independent original PMI-CP concept and application practice aligned to PMI’s published four-domain Examination Content Outline, February 2024 edition, read directly from PMI’s own PDF in September 2026. Four-option questions include explanations, wrong-answer reasoning and public-source references.
Who Should Take This Exam?
The PMI-CP is designed for construction and built-environment project professionals β project managers, contract administrators, project engineers, and interface or change managers working on capital projects. It validates applied judgement across contract administration, stakeholder and interface coordination, scope and change control, and project governance rather than general project management theory.
Prerequisites: PMI requires both training and experience, and the training route is not optional. You must complete all four PMI-CP foundational e-learning modules before you may apply, covering project communications, interface management, scope and change order management, and contract and risk management. You must also hold three years of on-the-job construction or built-environment project experience gained within the past ten years. Check PMI’s current eligibility rules before applying; this practice bank does not provide the required modules and does not count toward them.
Typical study time: 8-12 weeks of intensive study

Exam Domains & Weights
The PMI-CP exam covers 4 domains. Focus your study time based on the weights below β higher-weighted domains have more exam questions.
| Domain | Weight | Practice Qs |
|---|---|---|
| Contracts Management | 50% | 125 |
| Stakeholder Engagement | 30% | 75 |
| Strategy and Scope Management | 15% | 38 |
| Project Governance | 5% | 12 |
| Total | 100% | 250 |
π‘ Study tip: Contracts Management dominates this exam at 50% β half of every question set sits there, so ground yourself in contract types, risk allocation, claims and change orders first. Stakeholder Engagement (30%) is the second pillar and leans on interface management and communication across multi-party project teams. Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%) are the smallest domains but stay concept-dense β scope definition, change control and governance structures still carry questions, so don’t skip them.
