About the PgMP exam
PgMP focuses on decisions across a program: how its components work together, what benefits they should produce, and whether those benefits still support the organization’s strategy. A component can meet its own target while the wider program still has a problem.
This independent practice bank follows PMI’s March 2024 PgMP Examination Content Outline, checked against public PMI materials in September 2026. It contains 250 original single-answer questions. These are not official PMI questions, recalled exam questions or copies of vendor samples.
The outline’s March 2024 terminology update reflects the fifth edition of The Standard for Program Management. Use the current outline to check the scope of older study material rather than assuming a book’s title tells you which exam generation it covers.
Who is PgMP for?
PgMP is an experienced program-management credential. PMI assesses eligibility through an application process that includes a panel evaluation, as well as the examination.
Education and project/program management experience requirements vary with the applicant’s qualifications. Check PMI’s current PgMP eligibility and application requirements before applying or paying for preparation.
This practice bank is revision material. It provides no exam voucher, qualifying education or certification, and it does not prepare or assess the experience application or panel review.

The 38/110/27/40/35 allocation rounds the official weights to 250 questions, giving the tied rounding remainder to the earlier domain. It does not change PMI’s weights or imply that the real exam contains 250 questions. For Domain III, this page uses the detailed outline’s Benefits Management heading; its summary table calls that domain Benefits Alignment.
Strategic alignment covers the proposed program’s fit, mission, business case, high-level roadmap, financial assumptions, constraints and leadership authorization. Financial value, affordability and permission to proceed are related questions, not interchangeable answers.
Life cycle management covers definition, integrated planning, resources, delivery, monitoring, controlled changes and closure. The program view includes dependencies between components and the effect of a local decision on the combined outcome.
Benefits management covers baselines, measures, forecasts, ownership, transition and sustainment. Completing an output and realizing its intended benefit are different things. Changes in a measured outcome also need careful interpretation before they are attributed to the program.
Stakeholder engagement covers identifying stakeholders, understanding their needs, negotiating support, adapting communication and responding to concerns. An appropriate response depends on the actual audience, evidence and program constraints.
Governance covers decision authority, oversight, escalation, trustworthy information, learning and continuing strategic alignment. A role or approval route supplied in a practice scenario is a local case fact, not a claim that every organization uses the same hierarchy.
