About the NVIDIA NCP-ADS Exam
Master the NVIDIA-Certified Professional: Accelerated Data Science (NCP-ADS) exam: detect anomalies in time series, analyse graphs at scale with cuGraph, design accelerated ETL that reduces shuffle, scale with Dask across multiple GPUs, profile training with DLProf, do the device-memory arithmetic before it OOMs, benchmark honestly, and deploy and monitor models on Triton.
The complete 250-question practice exam for the NVIDIA-Certified Professional: Accelerated Data Science (NCP-ADS) exam. This is NVIDIA’s professional-tier credential for practitioners who already run accelerated data science in production. It is not a vocabulary test. Most questions hand you numbers β partition sizes, device memory, batch sizes, timings β and expect you to reason to a decision, and a fair number of them have “change nothing” as a defensible answer.
The guide covers data analysis including time-series anomaly detection, decomposition and stationarity, robust outlier statistics, forecast error metrics and rolling-origin backtesting, graph analytics with cuGraph, and exploratory analysis at scale; data manipulation and software literacy including accelerated ETL design with predicate and projection pushdown, caching and persistence to reduce shuffle, broadcast versus hash-shuffle joins, partition sizing, distributed processing with Dask and the RAPIDS Accelerator for Apache Spark, data parallelism for multi-GPU scaling, DLProf profiling, library selection by dataset size, and GPU memory management with RMM; data preparation including cleansing with cuDF and pandas, null versus NaN semantics, scaler selection and leakage-safe fitting, high-cardinality encoding, curation and synthetic-data risk, pipeline bottleneck localisation, GPUDirect Storage, and Parquet organisation and compaction; GPU and cloud computing including end-to-end acceleration strategy and Amdahl reasoning, the CRISP-DM process, dependency management with Conda and Docker, data-type selection per feature, valid benchmark design, and scaling to AWS, GCP or Databricks; machine learning including split strategy and group and temporal leakage, standardisation inside the cross-validation loop, hyperparameter search strategy, single-GPU versus multi-GPU training, batching, gradient accumulation and mixed precision; and MLOps including dataset memory sizing, required-versus-available device memory and peak-versus-steady-state headroom, Triton deployment with dynamic batching and response caching, operational versus model-quality monitoring, data and concept drift, CI/CD with canary and shadow deployment, and encryption and confidential computing. Original practice questions.
Who Should Take This Exam?
The NCP-ADS certification is designed for data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers and solution architects who have already moved a data science workload onto GPUs and now own its performance, cost and reliability. It validates professional-level judgement: not “what does cuDF do”, but “given this pipeline, this data size and this GPU, what is the bottleneck and what should you change first”.
This exam sits directly on top of the associate-level NCA-ADS. The two are separated by task tier rather than by topic. NCP-ADS adds a professional-only surface the associate exam does not cover at all: DLProf profiling, shuffle-aware caching and persistence, single-versus-multi-GPU training strategy, mixed precision and gradient accumulation, device-memory capacity arithmetic, benchmark design validity, cloud scale-out, and Triton deployment and response caching.
Prerequisites: No hard prerequisite. NVIDIA recommends two to three years of hands-on experience in accelerated data science, a strong foundation in machine learning and GPU-accelerated computing, experience with GPU-based optimisation strategies, and a deep understanding of end-to-end data science workflows from preparation through model deployment.
Typical study time: 6-12 weeks of focused study

Exam Domains & Weights
The NVIDIA-NCP-ADS exam covers 6 domains. Focus your study time based on the weights below β higher-weighted domains have more exam questions.
| Domain | Weight | Practice Qs |
|---|---|---|
| Data Manipulation and Software Literacy | 19% | 48 |
| MLOps | 19% | 47 |
| Data Preparation | 17% | 43 |
| GPU and Cloud Computing | 16% | 40 |
| Machine Learning | 15% | 37 |
| Data Analysis | 14% | 35 |
| Total | 100% | 250 |
π‘ Study tip: The weights are unusually flat β no domain is under 14%, so there is no section you can safely skip. Data Manipulation and Software Literacy and MLOps tie for the most weight (19% each) and they reward the same habit: knowing where a pipeline actually spends its time. Learn to reason about shuffle and about device memory, and you have covered nearly 40% of the exam.

NVIDIA Certification Path
Start with the NCA-AIIO for essential AI infrastructure knowledge, or go straight to NCA-ADS if data science is your track. NCP-ADS is the professional step above NCA-ADS: same subject, much higher bar. Where the associate exam asks whether you can use the accelerated tools, this one asks whether you can size, profile, tune and operate them under real constraints.

Study Tips
- Do the arithmetic β this exam repeatedly asks whether something fits in device memory or how long a stage takes. Practise the sums until they are quick, and always account for peak rather than steady-state usage
- Learn where shuffle comes from β predicate pushdown, projection pushdown, broadcast joins, co-partitioning and persistence are the difference between a pipeline that scales and one that thrashes
- Profile before optimising β DLProf and Amdahl reasoning are tested directly, and the correct answer is often “measure which stage dominates first”
- Use our practice exam β try the 20 free questions first to gauge your readiness
- Review explanations β don’t just check if you got it right; read why each answer is correct, and why the near-miss options fail
- Check the official page β official exam details always have the latest objectives
