About the CAPM exam
CAPM introduces the language and decisions used in project work. It covers project fundamentals, predictive planning, agile approaches and business analysis. You need to recognise what a situation calls for, not just remember the name of a document or technique.
This independent practice bank follows PMI’s 2023 CAPM Exam Content Outline, checked against PMI’s current materials in September 2026. It contains 250 original single-answer questions. These are not official PMI questions, recalled exam questions or copies of vendor samples.
Check older study material against the current outline. Business analysis has its own domain, and adaptive approaches are tested alongside predictive methods. A resource covering only a traditional project lifecycle will not cover the whole outline.
Who is CAPM for?
CAPM is an entry-level credential for people starting a project-management career or contributing to project teams. Project-management experience is not required.
PMI requires a secondary qualification, a minimum age of 18 and 23 hours of project-management education completed before the exam. Check PMI’s current CAPM eligibility requirements before paying for a course or booking an exam.
This practice bank is revision material. It provides no qualifying education hours, exam voucher or certification.

Domains and practice coverage
| Domain | Official exam weight | Practice questions |
|---|---|---|
| Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts | 36% | 90 |
| Predictive, Plan-Based Methodologies | 17% | 43 |
| Agile Frameworks/Methodologies | 20% | 50 |
| Business Analysis Frameworks | 27% | 67 |
| Total | 100% | 250 |
The 90/43/50/67 allocation rounds the official weights to 250 questions, giving the tied rounding remainder to the earlier domain. It does not change PMI’s exam weights.
Fundamentals covers project, program, portfolio and operations distinctions; planning; roles; communication; risk; benefits; problem-solving; and professional conduct. For ethics, use PMI’s current Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, rather than treating any association’s code as interchangeable with PMI’s.
Predictive methods covers when a plan-based approach fits, work breakdown structures, work packages, schedules and project controls. Schedule variance in earned value is expressed in budget units, not a number of calendar days.
Agile methods covers adaptive suitability, iteration planning and tracking, framework components, controls and task priorities. Different frameworks have different roles and practices; Scrum terminology is not a universal definition of agile.
Business analysis covers stakeholder roles and communication, elicitation, requirements, traceability, backlogs, roadmaps, release planning and acceptance criteria. Collecting a requirement, tracing it and deciding whether a completed result meets it are related but different activities.
Practice exam
Try the CAPM practice questions. Try 20 questions free. Full access to this certification’s 250-question bank costs US$9 for one year.
Each question has four answer choices and one correct answer. It includes an explanation, a hint, reasons the other choices are wrong, a study tip, a practical note and a public-source reference.
This is selected-response revision, not a full simulation of the CAPM exam. PMI also describes drag-and-drop, animation or comic-strip, and hot-spot items. This bank uses written scenarios and answer choices; it does not reproduce those interactive formats.
Use the explanations to check what made the answer fit and why the alternatives did not. A practice result is not a guarantee of an official exam result.
